The development of immutable programs on the blockchain is still a comparatively new field. Once a smart contract is deployed, it cannot be altered. The immutability property makes sure that all rules will not be changed, including rules which operate over user's assets. This however contributes to the fact that the creation of secure smart contracts is not trivial.

Once a smart contract with a bug or vulnerability is deployed, it exists indefinitely on the blockchain. That's why testing smart contracts is crucial.

In this talk, I will give you a brief introduction into blockchain and smart contracts. Once the fundamentals are explained, I am going to show you what impact bugs and vulnerabilities in smart contracts have and how testing is performed.

I will show that despite the special features of blockchain, many procedures can be adopted from classical software testing.
